I’m coming down with a FEEEVERRR

Filed under: new mix — StreX @ 2:56 pm

Massive party tunes ahoy! Nothing too deep, just some killer electro beats. You’ll recognize heaps of commercial vocals n stuff, but hopefully the remixes are fresh enough. Lots of Micky Slim tracks up front set the pumpin scene, then a Dabruck and Klein medley pick it up a notch. I really like the vibe these guys are putting out, real dancefloor friendly stuff. Axwell is achieveing more epic melodic tracks these days, and I managed to squeeze a few of his gems on here.. with my fav rodent Deadmau5 cleaning up at the end with absolute killer vocals.

New Mix - Wired!

Filed under: new mix — StreX @ 2:54 pm

Wow.. It’s been a while. Sorry for taking so long to get this released, things have just been crazy. Who cares, it’s here now and rocks! Rather than sticking to one particular genre of house like my recent mixes, I decided to cram a whole range into Wired. It has everything from french funk, moody prog, sexy saxophones and soulful vocals to my trademark electro bombs and distorted electroclash.

Bring it awwwwn!

Contrasts

Filed under: new mix — StreX @ 11:22 pm

My two latest releases; Velvet and Molotov couldnt be more different, but I feel they both achieve exactly what I envisaged for them.

Velvet is the epic journey into the beautiful melodies of progressive house. Smooth, harmonic mixing layered with old school vocals. Then there’s the polar opposite distorted mayhem of Molotov, it just rolls in a destroys the joint. I managed to squeeze 29 tracks on this mofo, so it holds the title for my biggest mix yet. I tried a lot of drop mixing and other techniques to achieve this, and I’m happy how it all worked out. People seem to go mental when I put it on, the tracks have that edge that just makes you wanna get messy.

The feedback I have received back already on these mixes has been stellar, thanks to everyone for the kind words and keep them coming please!

fresh beats

I love this time of year. So many parties!

Make my new mix SCORCHER the soundtrack to your holidays. Massive tunes from start to finish.

I also did up a fun little party mix the other day too, check HUSSY out here incase you missed it.

The tracklist for Jaded has been released, along with the updated cue file. Thanks for all the great emails I received regarding that mix, seems you peeps really dug the darker sound. I hope to mix up something similar in the future.

Anyway let me know what you think of Scorcher and if you played it at a party or whatever.. I love to hear that stuff.

Volume up, biatches!

The wait is over…

My new mix “Jaded” is finally available for download. Sorry for the delay with this one peeps, I was going to try and re-create an absolute killer mix like Weapon but the tracks coming out weren’t good enough in my opinion. The club bombs were few and far between, so I decided to try something a bit different and turn to the darker side of full-on distorted electrotech and progressive dubs. I really like how Jaded turned out, and it might take you a few listens before you really appreciate it but I know the throbbing basslines will grow on you.

Anyway quit reading this and go download it!

back on track

Ok peeps, sorry for the delay with my new mix.. I’ve just been insanely busy with stuff, but I think I’ve worked through it all now and can get serious about releasing some fresh beats.  I was holding off doing this new mix because I wanted to see how well some tracks went down at a recent gig (which absolutely rocked btw).  It’s safe to say I’ve got some bombs lined up, so stand by and I will have it ready for you very soon :)

give this a crank!

I am really happy with this mix, my friends already think this is my best yet.. but I would like to hear what you think! Pump up the volume and let me know how it goes :)

new mix - loaded!

Filed under: new mix — StreX @ 6:08 pm

I felt it was time to let loose with some fairly mainstream dance tracks that I have been holding on to for a while, and I was able to squeeze heaps of them onto the mix by doing my own personal edits of the tracks. Yeah there are some killer tracks on this mix, I really like ‘Pilling Me’ and the bassline of ‘Crank’, plus the reggae-electro stuff is wikkid mon. Check it yo..

change of pace..

I recently had a few requests to make a more chilled mix, something that you can chuck on at times when having your head caved in by thumping electro is not appropriate. I came up with Winter, and it’s pretty groovy. It features brand new stuff as well as some ancient classics that fit nicely side by side. It was actually pretty hard to mix some of this stuff but it all came together in the end (I love the mix between the Sia and Hybrid track!). Yeah I’m pretty versatile :P

I’m also testing the new download method of SpeedyShare. You should get pretty good download speeds off that site. Let me know if you like this option.

No need to stress all you electro junkies, I will be releasing one of my regular banging mixes very soon :)

new mix - lusty

Filed under: new mix — StreX @ 1:38 pm

lets hear it for the girls! lusty turned out to be an absolute banger. the sweet female vocals over the thumping electro basslines are just superb. it also was a bit of a tribute to one of my fav producers - ben macklin. i mixed in a crapload of his tracks and i think they work great together.

i also did a re-edit of magnum. i increased the tempo on most of the tracks to give it more of a party vibe, plus i also tightened and extended some mixes . then i improved the overall sound quality of the file, so you might want to re-download magnum if you grabbed it before (dont forget to snag the updated cue file too).

EDIT: Apparently the CUE file for Lusty wasn’t working because I noobed it up and had an extra line in the code. So you can either re-download the new updated CUE file, or edit the old one yourself. All you would need to do is open the CUE with notepad and delete the 4th line that said FILE “X:\StreX Mixes\StreX–Lusty\StreX–Lusty.mp3″ MP3. It will work fine after that (big thanks to Jason H for pointing out the error).
