Deluxo
by StreX on Dec.31, 2009, under 2009, Mixes
![]() |
Deluxo showcases some great progressive house tracks featuring fine female vocals and smooth synth melodies. Lots of big names on this mix with stellar tracks from Eric Prydz, Steve Angello, Laidback Luke, Gregor Salto, Avicii, Kaskade, plus some classy remixes from local Brisbane legend Nick Galea. The stand-out tracks for me are the two remixes done by Arno Cost, he absolutely kills it with his use of vocals, lyrics and driving basslines. Deluxo is a perfect mix for earlier in the evening to set the groove. (continue reading…)

Ravage
by StreX on Jul.29, 2009, under 2009, Mixes
![]() |
Prepare to have your speakers raped by the straight up mainroom house and banging electro of Ravage. Bomb after bomb is dropped by the electronica elite, such as Axwell, Deadmau5, Basement Jaxx, TV Rock, and even Snoop Dogg’s gangsta flow gets the electro treatment! I did some pretty slick mixing and especially liked the epic triple build of tracks 16 and 17 before peaking with TV Rock’s stomping remix of “Can’t Hold Back”. I love the lyrics of “You’re Rude”, it’s been a favorite of mine from many years ago. Ravage is more commercial than my other recent mixes, but this kind of shit goes off at parties like nothing else. Blast it. (continue reading…)
Voyager
by StreX on Jun.15, 2009, under 2009, Mixes
![]() |
Taking a journey into the deeper side of prog, Voyager captures that hypnotic roll of the heavy drum beat and smooth vocals with powerful lyrics. This mix really has that epic vibe to it, with all the delicate piano work and subtle melodies that put you in a more chilled mood without boring you. No progressive-house mix would be complete without a Deadmau5 bomb, and the trance masters drop in such as Armin Van Buuren and Paul Van Dyk with classy remixes by Inpetto and EDX. The first half of Voyager features the more recognizable tunes while the second half delves deeper and darker for that melancholic touch. (continue reading…)
Overdrive
by StreX on May.29, 2009, under 2009, Mixes
![]() |
Overdrive is a mix I did at a party where they asked me to break out the oldskool dance tunes. It turned into a massive trip down memory lane featuring many of the tracks that first got me hooked on electronic music in the late 90’s. Practically every song has a special meaning for me personally and I hope they make you guys feel a bit nostalgic too. If not, educate yourself on those classic basslines! Overdrive kicks off around the 136bpm mark and works all the way up to an absolutely mental 160bpm’s. With 45 tracks it goes for over 2 hours so put it on and dance the night away! Ripple
by StreX on Jan.02, 2009, under 2009, Mixes
![]() |
Smooth and classy, Ripple just rolls along at a steady pace and is perfect for those times when you are in the mood for some softer beats. The exquisite female vocals throughout the mix create a trancey sort of vibe but at a much more manageable tempo. Nothing beats Sia’s vocals or lyrics, she is simply superb. Special mention also goes to the melodic prog interlude of Sebasitien Leger, I’m really digging his style lately. As usual I’ve found some remixed classics to give that touch of familiarity. Cruisy. Destroya
by StreX on Jan.01, 2009, under 2009, Mixes
![]() |
Ready for a dose of distorted, jacked-up mayhem? Destroya lays waste to speakers and eardrums alike. This shit’s pretty intense with it’s downright rude basslines and filthy hooks, so make sure you give this mix the justice it deserves and play it at maxvol+10. I tried to cram lots of Miles Dyson tracks on there, that guy knows how to produce absolute bombs. Twocker also got a workout and provided a nice selection of wonky remixed classics. Not for noobs! (continue reading…)
Fever
by StreX on Sep.14, 2008, under 2008, Mixes

The big chunky basslines roll on through Fever with lots of familiar vocals laid over the top. Featuring many quality remixes of classics and commercial tracks, this mix has that party vibe that progresses from the Micky Slim bangers at the beginning to the smooth exquisite vocals at the end courtesy of Axwell and Deadmau5. (continue reading…)
