Overdrive

Overdrive is a mix I did at a party where they asked me to break out the oldskool dance tunes. It turned into a massive trip down memory lane featuring many of the tracks that first got me hooked on electronic music in the late 90’s. Practically every song has a special meaning for me personally and I hope they make you guys feel a bit nostalgic too. If not, educate yourself on those classic basslines! Overdrive kicks off around the 136bpm mark and works all the way up to an absolutely mental 160bpm’s. With 45 tracks it goes for over 2 hours so put it on and dance the night away! This is a fun mix that I did at a party for a friend of mine, she loves handbag house so there are lots of vocal tracks with cheesy lyrics that everyone loves to drunkenly sing along to. Heaps of familiar tracks remixed to keep the party jumping. It even dips into some good old fashioned vocal house for that uplifting vibe. Enjoy! (continue reading…)

I created this mix to use at a party where there were a few dudes in attendance who love the old nigga shiz, thus the inclusion of Coolio/Snoop/Diddy tracks. The whole mix is basically a demonstration of heaps of different house styles, from nu-electro to vocal-house, and even a bit of wacky cowboy-house courtesty of Bob Sinclar. Yeee-hizzle! I finished this mix just in time for New Years, hence track 4 went down well. Phat electro basslines feature heavilly in Maverick, infact I tried to break it up with some more vocal tracks but the juicy lektro beats absolutely dominate this mix. (continue reading…)

Released: December 23, 2006
Flashback became my version of an Annual mix. I basically took some of my fav tracks from 2006 (and some from 2005), found a recent remix and slapped them together. This resulted in a pretty fine selection of cheese for use over the xmas period. (continue reading…)

Woah Black Eyed Peas overload! Yep, I couldn’t resist laying down a selection of pure cheese at the beginning of this mix. I just had to get it out of my system. The second half of the mix really turns it up with some absolute gems, including a fair few Axwell mixes (can the man do no wrong?). Keep an ear out for “Something To Lose”, I absolutely love this track and I am addicted to the vocals of Nadia Ali (of IIO fame). Then Kurd Maverick takes us home with his own delectable style. Luuurve it. (continue reading…)

Released: November 12, 2006
Talk about a Girly Mix! Superstar doesn’t have a male vocalist within earshot. Starting off with a thump thanks to one of my favourite tracks of all time, Superstar progresses through a fine range of sweet feminine tunes before finishing off with the epic ‘1983 Loving Arms’ remix. You go girlz! (continue reading…)
